“Introverts live in two worlds: We visit the world of people, but solitude and the inner world will always be our home.”

“I found, increasingly, that I did not particularly care and I tried to fake a little kindness, a little sweetness, tried to mirror Her back at herself, but that exhausted me after a few weeks and I concluded that I was not meant for this sort of thing, friends, friendliness, no, I wasn't meant for it.”

“Can I get your cell phone number so we can text like normal antisocial human beings, since we are both too fucked up to have a conversation?”

“Like anybody can tell you, I am not a very nice man. I don't know the word. I have
always admired the villain, the outlaw, the son of a bitch. I don't like the clean-shaven
boy with the necktie and the good job. I like desperate men, men with broken teeth
and broken minds and broken ways. They interest me. They are full of surprises and
explosions. I also like vile women, drunk cursing bitches with loose stockings and
sloppy mascara faces. I'm more interested in perverts than saints. I can relax with
bums because I am a bum. I don't like laws, morals, religions, rules. I don't like to be
shaped by society.”

I am an asshole

Death March 2118 planned for March 24 - April 2

I have a trek planned for the end of the month, we will be wandering into a canyon that, through our research should yield many wonderful discoveries.

I am hoping for lots of blood and sweat, cuts and abrasions left along the trail, this should be a real " Who's dumb ass idea was this ? " hike.

Walking: the most ancient exercise and still the best modern exercise.
Carrie Latet

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
Henry David Thoreau

Returning home is the most difficult part of long-distance hiking; You have grown outside the puzzle and your piece no longer fits.
Cindy Ross

The long distance hiker, a breed set apart,
From the likes of the usual pack.
He’ll shoulder his gear, be hittin’ the trail;
Long gone, long ‘fore he’ll be back.
M.J. Eberhart

Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.
